That is a crazy event. I dont know who is more crazy, the rider or the hill help that run after the sled.

These riders have some huge balls. I agree that guys trying to stop the sleds from rolling down the mountain are nuts.
I was at a similar event in Revelstoke a couple years ago. A little different format, some of the riders have incredible talent & also compete at Jackson Hole.
Attached is a clip from the Big Iron Shootout in Revelstoke.

Do you suppose the first guy that tried this did it by accident?

Daze, the first video, thats nuts for both the drivers and chasers. That's why those hills are made for downhill skiis.

Ah man u guys had to post that Usually I would be on my way out there now to ride in togwotee pass 3-4 days then drive 45 minutes to jackson for the climbs this is the first year ive missed in the last 6 years
The hill climbs is a huge party every year and even in the video its hard to imagine how steep the hill is but if someone is standing 2 feet in front of you there shoulders are about at your waist its insane
I wish I was on my way but I blew up my motor last tuesday2007 Outback V

Sorry boys for delay.
Nope I raced Snowcross. We did however cross paths with drivers from the Hillclimp circuit at the factory race school every fall. They have a new version now (not that they still don't do hill climkbs) called hii cross. Its 6 sleds lined up and a shot up a ski hill with 3 or for monster jumps. A lot of snowcross guys will do this in the spring as it's after most cicuits finish up and after most ski hills shut down for the season.
I was at a regional once where for fun at the end of the day they did something like that up a 120meter ski jump. That was fun
