Oil Pressure Gauge
Been doing some jobs on my Moomba Mobius V 2000.
Its been in storage for the last 6months, not due to go back out until next month.
Noticed my oil pressure gauge is reading 15......
Is this normal?
I thought it would be zero......?
It does register when the boat is running though, i remember that from last season.
If this is the case, i have been running it all last season like this.
Could i have a faulty gauge?Dave Longbotham

Oil pressure gauge
Okay, so if i disconnect the gauge from the sender unit, what should the gauge read?
0.00 psi?
Or does it read atmospheric pressure?Dave Longbotham

With the sensor unpluged, key on the gauage should read 0
now ground out the sensor wire and the gauge should read full or max pressure on gauge
if it does not bad gauge

Oil Pressure Gauge
This is weird....i thought i had a gauge problem......as the needle registers 50.00 with the power off.
So, i look for a new gauge, $200.00 is the cost from my dealer in UK, and $50 for the switch from SKIDIM.COM
I saw one the same on Ebay today in the USA, and it's oil pressure needle is reading 50.00......and it is completely disconnected from the boat!!!(at $100.00)
Tonight i am going to power her on, and see what the gauge registers.
This is one of the 4 in 1 type gauges......
I don't think i probably have a problem, the bloke selling it says all electrical gauges show an odd reading when powered off.
Wait out .........Dave Longbotham

Gauge Fault
Checked the sender unit and the wiring and the gauge.
No problems found.
The gauge just likes to read around 40 when the power is switched off, but returns to zero when powered back on.
Weird......
Looks like there is no problem.....just a worried boat owner to blame!Dave Longbotham
