Mounting Tower Speakers
Where should I mount them. I am leaing towards the fron bar of the tower like the one on the drivers side. This way it is under the tower instead of sticking out behind the tower. What does everyone think.

98outback - I agree w/ SEARK. Hang them from the front bar. Two reasons: 1) they look is more appealing and 2) it keeps the back bar free for people to grab. Either way, you are sure to have some nice tunes. - Deerfield

I prefer them on the back on every boat i've had because they're not over my head killing my ears! Also i personally don't want anyone grabbing the tower anyway, my luck the first idiot to do it would loose his or her grip and fall.

If the intent is to have music reach out to the end of a tow rope, they are usually located at the back. It also gives the driver a bit of a break. But, there is no hard and fast rule and it's your boat. You do what feels right to you. Gonna sound great!

I have to go with Front. I had mine on the back bar and everyone kept hitting their heads on the speakers getting in and out. moved to the front bar and no one has hit their head on the speakers.

On my 2008 XLV the Bimini zips around the front bar so mounting speakers would require altering the bimini. When I got speakers, I put them on the rear bar. Looks good to me.
