    Default "Moomba - the ski boat company" Very Cool Find Inside...

    My dad was going through some old stuff and stumbled across this old Moomba Boomerang flyer. I can't find a date on it anywhere, but I've got to imagine its one of the first pieces of literature from the company. Scanned for your viewing pleasure.

    I love the outfits;

    Cool stuff Ian, thanks for posting it.

    Mick Neville, shown in the last page, went on to start the Masterline Company - Ski ropes and etc. I think he was huge starting in 1985.

    I just found this in the 'History' section on the main page;
    In November of 1989, the first product mold was acquired from an Australian tow boat manufacturer. In 1990, the Moomba Boomerang made its debut in North America. True to its Aussie-heritage, the Boomerang brought affordable towboat fun to the American tournament boat market.

    I would need to spend time with each of them to see the differences. I'm trying to find out who I lended my time machine to.

    nice ads.
    almost bought one of the original moomba boomerangs (was a 1990) for my first boat 2 years ago. glad I didn't as I don't think it would have surfed real well, but still a cool boat. loved the kangaroo graphics on the side...

    It is funny thinking about how long I have wanted a true direct drive tournament boat, and now we have one.

    I would go to the boat show every year and crawl all over the Mastercrafts, Supremes, Nautiques and especially the Supras.

    Never really paid much attention to the Moombas until last years boat show.

    Glad I did!

    I too went to the 2007 boat show with the idea that I can't afford a true ski boat. It was time to replace the '79 Carlson Glastron O/B that had served us well for 20+ years. I figured I'd end up buying another O/B.
    While my wife and I strolled up and down the isles our eyes caught the Mooma "boat show special". We were intrigued. The O/B boats we were looking at were in the same price range as the Outback.
    On the way home from the show, we talked about the different boats we saw. My wife asked me which boat(s) was I interested in. I said I realy would like a "REAL" ski boat but up until now didn't think we could affort one. She thought it would be nice to be able to drive a boat without constaintly counter-steering everytime I made a cut.
    That night we built our boat on-line and went back to the show the next day to place the order for our Outback. We're super happy with our Outback.

    Why can't there be a "No Fishing" curfew for us skiers?

    Those original boomerangs are the sexiest boats I have ever seen. If I had any extra money, I would love to have one. Maybe I could find a restoration project boat. A guy on my lake has one that is in perfect condition and it looks twice as good as any of the new ones in my opinion. I would love to have one as the designated ski boat. They just look so good.

    Man back then I would have done anything to have a Boomerang! I like other stories center around finally deciding we just needed to get back to a true ski boat and have been just thrilled ever since!
