Default a chip in the hull

I own a 2001 Outback. After a weekend of skiing, I noticed a a chip about the size of a quarter located where the boat comes to a 'V' underneather the front of the boat.

It looks like the bottom of the boat may have rubbed the trailer awkwardly producing the chip.

The undercoat (white) is now exposed showing a grey material where the chip is...

Though not deep, does this chip provide leak possibilities or is the hull really too thick?

Like many, a dealer is very far away...How can I fix this? Do I use an epoxy seal? Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Default chip in the hull

If it is that deep and below the water line, you may be faced with future osmosis (bubbling of the gel coat) Most marine supplie stores have the gel patch you need.
Spend the money before the kids get a hold of it!
