Stripe Bass, caught in river below lake Talquin. They are fresh/saltwater fish. They come up rivers to spawn and also live and thrive in land locked freshwater lakes (stocked) I catch them in the lake also. lot of fun on a small baitcaster lg. mouth bass rig.
this one had a tracking device, (wire transmitter) I called in the # off the tracker and the game dept. is supose to send me her history.

Just checked my P.O. box today, game and fish said they tagged the fish on 4/08/08 in same waters I caught it. at that time it weighed 26 lbs ! and was 34.4 in. and was a male fish not suitable for use at spawning in the hatcheries, thereby released. guess he'd been dieting thru the winter...??? heck I thought it was a big female...
