    Default Wake Plate Gauge

My wake plate potion gauge does not indicate where the wake plate is positioned. I think the gauge has power to it because the light comes on in the gauge.. it just reads 0 no matter where the plate is positioned.

Any suggestions on where to start my trouble shooting?

Yeah I've done that and I can't seem to find a loose wire.. I wanted to just take the gauge out and mess with it, but man that thing is hard to get out.
I think I'm just being lazy... where does the wire attach on the other end?

    Hey Jon,

When you take your boat down to viper ask Jim he can probaly locate the problem in no time.

I had the same issue last summer. If I remember correctly, there are 2 wires coming from the gauge and they are spliced together. I just cut both splices out and re-spliced them. Worked like a charm ever since. They were bundled up with wire ties but once you cut those, they are easily accessible. The whole fix took 10 mins. Hope that helps...

Reese I found that out yesterday and yes that was the problem! Thanks for the input though.

    Have a good one!

Hey guys.. Is this the same set up for the newer gauges? Like an 08 wake plate gauge?

I would think so. Mine is an 06 and I don't think they changed anything on the wakeplates until 09 and that was only with the cylinder, not the gauge.
