    Another option is to pull the pin and put 2 locks in the open pin holes on the swing away so that it cannot be closed/put back into towing position..
    Here's a more secure alternative to two padlocks as it would be more difficult to cut.

    I have not. I don't leave my trailer out other than when it's sitting at the ramp parking lot attached to my Durango while we are on the water. For that, I have a lock on my hitch receiver and a lock that replaces the pin on the trailer tongue. And both are keyed alike.

    All this talk of a trailer lock got me to thinking about my old school Kryptonite bike lock that I haven't used since college. Well, it happens to work perfectly as a swing tongue trailer lock! See pic below.

    We are going to the lake for 5 days (leaving tomorrow) during which time the boat will be in the water 24/7 and the trailer will be all by itself in a distant parking lot so this will come in handy.

    Great thinking, but are these any cheaper than the other finds?
