Wires at the carb???
My boat is a 2006 outback DD carb. Against my better judgement my wife allowed a friend to borrow my boat this past weekend, he told me it was running rough... He said he lifted the motor cover up and saw wires neer the carb disconnected. Where are these wires supposed to go, and what do they do if anything? He said the boat would die until he connected them to a round unit by the carb cover. Sorry if this is not clear, but I am at work not in front of the motor.

The wires may be connected to the electric choke on the carb. A small current goes to the choke (the small round unit). When the wire inside is heated from the electric current, the metal expands and opens the choke. It is a simple system.
There should not be a reason for the wires to be disconnected unless you take the boat in for service and they forgot.1997 MasterCraft 205
