Default New Outback V very low rpms and top speed

I have just got my new 325hp 2008 Outback V and am working through the 'break in' period. After 10 hours on the engine I decided to bring the rpms up to 4000 however the engine seems to top out around 3900. The fastest I can get the boat to go is about 30 mph. Obviously there is something wrong. Its a real pain for me to tow it back to the dealer for a check up so I am hoping someone out there might know what the problem might be. If there is something simple I can do myself I would rather do than tow the boat 3 hours back to the dealer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Did you set your cruise @ 3900 RPM and then forget to turn it off after you slowed? I forget once in a while when I'm towing someone. If so, just give the boat some gas, turn the cruise off, and then come back off plane. It should work fine after that. If it's not a Moomba Cruise issue, I can't think of anything else.

I am wondering if your dealer put some sort of governor on your throtle that will limit over revving your engine during the break in period. I experienced something similar. When I brought it in after the break in period I was able to get more RPM's.

My top end speed is only around 40-43. I have the factory prop on my 06 Outback V.

If you were a blonde I'd tell you to unstrap the trailer. Oh, forgot, this isn't Ed's joke of the day forum.

She can meet my blonde wife and they can beat up on me together. Donna has a theory that it's not the blondes giving blondes the rep as airheads it's the fake "bleach" blondes doing it. In other words, the true culprits are brunettes.
