Default Boat 'Grab' or 'Safety' Handles - Dealer problems....

I am looking to replace the grab handles on my 2000 Kamberra. I spoke to a dealer yesterday who told me I am ONLY able to order the specific handles made for my boat. Unfortunately, SS handles were not made in 2000, therefore, I cannot get those through this dealer. Is this strange??

I asked the dealer if I could order LSV grab handles, he said no. He also said he did not have time to measure the distance between the screws in the new handles (For an LSV or XLV) to see if they could easily be used in my boat.

If anyone here has a moment to measure a handle in their boat - I would REALLY appreciate it! If they match up, (my screws are 7 & 1/2 inches apart) I will call back and tell him I have an LSV or whatever to get the product I want...lol

    Thank you in advance!!

I will eventually replace the plastic handles in my '04 LSV with ss. Just too cheap to release the money right now. I just bought the boat and have other things of more importance to address right now such as ballast, stereo, etc.
However, check out these that I found on ebay. I realize they are listed as 8 inch, but you might could redrill one of the holes and make these work if you can't get a dealer to work with you.

    Great suggestions Ken!

    Thank you!

I agree, the price is brutal to replace all the handles.

Ken, if you get a moment, can you measure the handles you have in your 04 LSV? Are they 8 inches as you are looking for 8 inch replacements?

I am hoping that the base of hte handle (in contact with the boat) will be large enough to hide the hole that was left from the previous handle.

    THanks!

I think all you need to do is elongate the existing holes a little, and the 8" grab rails will work.

NB10, that's what I would do, just elongate the holes. the 5/8th or 3/4 base whatever it is should easily cover the oversized holes.

Nboard, I'll measure them for you today when I get off work. Should be around 5pm Central time. I'll post my results tonight.

    I'll try not to forget.

2004 LSV front grab handles (handrails) are 7 3/4" bolt to bolt.
