If the power is down, check the choke.I would not look at re-jetting.Probably something easier.Good luck.

Have you owned the boat since new.If not are the mixture screws exposed or are they still covered with the factory plugs. It probably just needs some tuning of these. Here is a link to a very good guide to doing this.Hope it helps. Please keep us updated.

If the choke is open and you have black smoke, then you have an internal problem. Minimum you have either a power valve or accel. pump diaphram that is torn and causing gas to leak past, or internal gasket that is bad. The boat carb. is a little harder to rebuild than a normal 4 bbl.
If you feel comfortable, remove it and replace the power valve and accel. pump. Otherwise, let someone rebuild it that is trustworthy.
Buying a rebuilt unit can also be tricky since we see them come out of the box bad. A lot of times they are rebuilt on an assy. line and the internal settings, like the float, linkages, are wrong. Or try and buy new.

Power valve was replaced at the beginning of last season, it helped, but did not fix it. I guess I will move to the accel pump diaphram. I could not see the link for mixture screw adjustment, but have done that last season as well. I was doing some reading last night on the Holley site. I guess I will dig into this carb and figure it out.
