Wired remote for ipod display?

OK so the couple of threads on remotes has me curious. Is there a remote that will replace the factory driver side remote that will display ipod info? I have an 07 Outback, not sure which model # the stock Kenwood is. I know I can swap out the radio and get a remote with display, but before I consider spending the $$ for that I was curious if there was one already out there for my existing radio.

Water temp up to 71 or 72 at our spot...can't wait for Saturday!
