Am I an Idiot or Is My Dual Battery Setup Wrong
Picked up the boat from the stereo shop and they did a dual battery installation. I always thought that #1 battery is cranking and #2 battery is accessories. Well the boat will crank when the switch is set to 1, 2, or both 1 & 2 and the stereo will also work on 1, 2, or both 1 & 2. Is this right?

From what I understood with my dual batteries from the dealership, you should be able to do it any way you like, but always have the settitng on 1&2 while the boat is running(recharging both of them). I purchased the dual battery setup for peace of mind in case one goes dead while on the water for listening to music to long or whatever but all in all you should be able to use either baterry or both when neccesary for what ever you want.

It sounds lke they have your main distribution block wired to the selector switch. (that is they way I would do it)
You should be careful if you run it on "both" listening to the radio, you could kill both and be dead anyway.
I would alternate their use, run it on 1 this weekend, and 2 next weekend. It is better barefoot!
