    Default EPA emmissions control 2009

    EPA emmissions 2009

Anyone know of the cost thatthis will have on moomba, I have a freind who is looking to upgrade and his I/O dealer is telling him to buy now cause the boat modifiation to to exhaust, fuel lines and tanks are going to cost near $4,000 for 2009 season.

On April 17th, the EPA signed a proposed rule titled, "Control of Emissions from Non-road Spark Ignition Engines and Equipment", which will impact boatbuilders, outboard and inboard/sterndrive gasoline engine manufacturers, and manufacturers of marine generators. It will require spark ignited marine engine manufacturers to meet new emission standards beginning in 2009, and boatbuilders to reduce evaporative emissions from boat fuel systems.

I would assume the xcat indamar is handling most of the reg.

Trying to get him in a moomba and be part of the clan.

That's just for new ones, I think. Older ones should be ok

Indmar already has the ECAT motor, available as an option to everyone except CA (where it is required), that meets this. So at most the cost will be the option cost on the price of that motor.

Where'd you get yours? I got mine from Island Marine in Corona and pulled it back to Salt Lake City.
