Which Spark Plug wires from SkiDim??
Well I guess as long as I started the Summerization thread I need to figure out which plug wires to buy from www.skidim.com
99 Outback/ Indmar 5.7L/ 310HP/ carbed
Pretty sure it's a Delco distributor

My first instinct would be to go with the first set. They seem to be for the 350 specific model and the second set is for a 350/454 model. Besides that , I kind of like the blue wires....screams Ford, but oh well. I also agree with qb12, give them a call. Really cool people. I would also like to see the specs on the first set. The second set are silicon 8mm which is a good wire and the first set does not specify.

Time for a spark plug wire history lesson here!
Go Copper Core!!!!!
Because of the FCC , cost and AM radios almost all American spark plug wires went away from copper around 1970. They sell those graphite or whatever it is "crap". They will have about 5k ohms to start with and after time will deteriorates to over 20k ohms in about 2 years time. Usually anything over 10k ohms is bad, face it the juice ain't getting to the plug the wire just gets hot and goes bad even quicker. European cars (Bosch and Beru wires if they are made in Europe and not US) are copper core wires. The resistance was built into the cap, for the FCC and the copper has no resistance. The caps screwed on and if the resistance was bad you could buy a new cap. In other words these wires are repairable. The wires don't go bad until the wire cover deteriorates and the spark jumps out of the wire. This could take 5 years or more. But a set of plug wires would cost 100 to 125 bucks (remember the resistor caps are not cheap either). Being a boat engine I am not sure if the FCC has any rules and these wires may not have any resistance which means the power is going to the plug and not creating heat. OK the resistor spark plugs was the same issue. If you are going to listen to AM buy them, if not don't!

Hey one thing I don't know, is the first set copper core too!? A phone call may be in order and if they are........well those blue wires sure look nice!
