Engine Tuning - Help!
I recently acquired a 1998 Outback with 250 hours. It is powered by the Indmar 310 hp (Edlebrock Performer RPM manifold and Holley 750 cfm 4010).
After correctly a water in the fuel problem and having the carburetor remanufactured, I just can't seem to get the engine dialed in for low speed idle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, should the spark plug gap on the MR43LTS be .045 or .030? Timing at 10 degrees BTC?
The folks at Indmar strongly suggested to either reman the 4010 or considering their new configuration that comes with a 4150. I tested a 4150 (mechanical secondary 750 cfm) and this was just too much fuel to even consider for a shake down run.
This led to the decision to reman the 4010.
Thank you and I appreciate the opportunity to benefit from the exprience of the Moomba knowledge base community.
