I have an 05 single axle trailer. Mine has a mechanical block on the right side of the tongue. If yours has the same set up, you should be able to purchase the "key" for the slot at a boat dealer.

In my folder of all the manuals, there is a boatmate trailer manual.. it has a little metal key that fits on the trailer to keep it from locking.

When I bought my first boat, I quickly attached a wire to the reverse light wire on my truck rear lights and put a male plug end on it so I can quick connect.

My truck (Tahoe) came with a 4 pin wiring harness plug. You can get a 5 pin plug that fits 7 way wiring harness plug on most newer Fords, chevy's etc. Wal-mart and auto shops carry the 7 way round plug to 5 way flat connector and this includes your trailer reverse/brake lockout wire.
The brakes are controlled by an electronic actuator that locks out brakes when in reverse..

the keys don't like to stay in, so use some tape or something else creative to hold it in place.

Duct tape does a good job, but in a pinch, a medium sized booger will hold well enough.

If you don't have the right key,a Nickel works good.

Is that a yellow or green booger?

    Hey all
New owner here of a 04 OB
the manauls were in the boat in a pouch soaking. All garbage now
The only one I couldn't find on the internet was the trailer manaul
Its a single axle boatmate I suspect with surge disc brakes 04 as well
Can anyone direct me to a web site or somewhere where I can purchase
    a new manaul.

    Many thanks

Your already in the right place, just move over to the service and repair section, manuals are listed there
