Default Worth it for the money?

Looking at a '99 Outback being sold by a nearby dealer. It has 700 hours, tower with racks and speakers, in pretty good condition. They're asking 17,000 for it. Is this an ok deal? And how long do engines usually last?

I am not sure how many hours you can expect out of a motor, but I bet if you look around on onlyinboards.com ; wakeworld.com classified, craigslist.com etc, you can find a little newer one with less hours from an individual
    look at this: http://www.onlyinboards.com/Search.a...D=5&City=&Key=
If you are willing to drive a little, you can find a little newer less hours in that price range..

I picked up a real clean '99 Outback this summer for $15k. 400 hours. No tower but a fly high pylon. I'd say keep looking, especially at the end of the season. Good luck.

I am sure it is a great boat but definately over priced. I just went through this entire process. I picked up an 03 outback. One that I found and was considering is an 02 with 102 hours for 16k

03outbackVT thanks for the link. I bought that outback this past weekend for $14,500. Boat needs a little cleaning but mechanically is in perfect condition and I know the mechanic that has maintained it since new.

    Thanks again,
    Don
