Swim platform
I have an 05 outback, my buddy hit my swim platform and cracked the gel coat. How much does this cost to fix? also thinking about getting a different one, maybe even teak. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I was backing up in my driveway with my wife guiding me to how close I was to the garage - she forgot to tell me to stop. I crunch my platform. I replaced it with teak and love it. Teak cost less than a replacement glass platform.

i had a crack too. i patched it, then used the touch up paint to paint it. its not perfect but it works and was alot cheaper than buying a new platform.

Is it a big deal to have cracked gelcoat on the platform. Somebody jumped on my platform with their board on and there are some spider cracks on its edge. I assumed that came with the territory?

The gelcoat acts as a barrier, preventing water intrusion.
.
If you've hit the platform hard enough to cause cracks, I'd be concerned with the condition of the mounts or screws that hold it to the boat.
.
Hope this helps
