WINDSHIELD FLEX !!!
2007 outback Has ne one noticed a change or flex in winshield frame. one time after a hard run we acctually had to pull the two sides of the frame apart to get the middle section to open , it had fallen in between edge where it is supposed to overlap on top. also noticed the gap where overlap occurs varies, closer on top than on bottom. ne one else???

I have noticed this on my 97 Outback. I figured it was mostly due to age. I frequently have to loosen up the screws on the frame, re-align it, then tighten it all down.

My 99 Mobius has had recurring issues with this. I had it fixed once to the tune of $400. Problem returned in less than 6 months. But has not gotten bad enough to let the window fall through yet.
If you believe something to be true, it will be - in it's consequences.

I had exactly the same problem with my 99 Outback. I was pushing home in rough water, and hit a big roller. The walkthrogh window fell right throgh. I could not get it back without loosening the windshield screws.
I have noticed that there is a fair amount of flex in the hull in big waves, and am very careful.

My walk-thru on my 98 popped thru once. I think I pulled the wire on the hinge to get it off. The supports were loose where the plastic connects to the metal so I epoxied them together and I haven't had a problem since.

The hull has spread on my 2001 Outback, but the windsheild has never fallen into the opening. It would fall though at the top if it wasn't for that little extension tab on it (which may have been a fix before I bought the boat).
