The new deck looks good Bergmaister. We spent a few days at Lake Powell. Came across this boat "docked" in the wrong space LOL. I hope everyone survived, and would love to hear the story.

They all survived, though one person was life flighted out. They were out on the lake and a storm blew in and they were rushing back to the marina. One of their dogs distracted them and they wound up on the rocks. Pretty harrowing!

Distracted by the dog . . . . there was a story down in Knoxville where a guy was pulling a tick off his dog and ended up on the rocks.

Speaking of crashed boats, did yall see that freak storm whip up on I think it was Lake Tahoe? Winds were roaring and waves got reportedly 8-10’ and then even some snow fell. All within about 45 minutes. Crazy footage!

And then theres that viral video of the idiot in a Malibu trying to kill jet skiers in a floating marina of all places! People are stupid!

Packing up the truck right now and about to head to the lake for the rest of the week and weekend! ‘Murica! Y’all be safe out there.

The Tahoe storm was crazy. I’ve been out there in the winter when the winds were blowing on the tops of the mtns at 80mph at the north side resorts. Down at lake level, it was probably 30-40mph.

Man do they have some awesome looking water in the summertime. Heard they have crazy regulations too.

I read where they found the Malibu boat abandoned, then two guys were arrested.

Both guys had prior arrests before the boating incident - sounded like fine upstanding citizens - here is part of the article after the arrest.

According to localcrimenews, Erick was arrested on May 3 this year by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department for assault with any means of force likely to produce great bodily injury. He was also arrested on Sept. 5, 2024, by Contra Costa CHP for threats of violence. Danny was also arrested on May 3 this year, but by Walnut Creek Police, for being intoxicated in public and resisting a peace officer with injury.

2 men arrested after reckless boating incident in Discovery Bay:

Days after a reckless boating incident in Discovery Bay injured one person, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday (06/26) that two men allegedly involved were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Videos of the June 22 incident were “widely shared on social media,” the sheriff’s office said, and an investigation was launched by the Marine Services Unit. Multiple witnesses reported to authorities that a boat was chasing a personal watercraft, commonly referred to by the brand name Jet Ski, inside the marina at high speeds.

The chase resulted in a collision, which injured the jet skier, CCCSO said. The injured male was treated at a local hospital.

Deputies identified two of the boat operators as Erick Garcia, 33, and Danny Garcia, 34, both of Oakley. Authorities located the boat abandoned in Stockton, the sheriff’s office said.

Erick was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop in Oakley, while Danny was arrested as law enforcement served a search warrant at his home.

Both were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of criminal threats and one count of vandalism. Bail was set at $95,000.

One of these years I’m going to make the trip up!

We made it down to the same lake house we rented last year since our dog enjoyed it so much and it’s in a great, quiet spot and it’s not far from where we normally store my boat. Had my first Bluetooth won’t pair or detect device issue but finally got that fixed by switching to Internal antenna mode.

Now it’s time to enjoy the holiday week and weekend!
