I was doing my pre-season change of fluids and replacing the impeller. When drawing down the last of the ATF using the vacuum extractor the end of the tube had a grey kind of sludge on it. I have a ‘21 Makai with a 400 raptor. Any thoughts on it? Is it a concern? TIA

Ever have any shifting issues or slipping? If the answer is no, I would run the boat a few outings and change it again to see what you find.
I've heard of people flushing a vdrive if it had water get in there, but unaware of boat trans flushes.
Also have not heard of many trans cooler issues or line issues on newer boats.

I haven’t noticed any slipping. I did have the FPP1-2 lower than expected error (SPN 91 PMI 1at the end of last season. Service came out and replaced fuel pump. They tested and said all seemed fine, but then the season ended and I didn’t get back out at all.

I pulled some gunk out of mine when I first got it. I think these drive condensate a little running in cold water. The gray could be break in residue if this is your first fluid change.

Appreciate the input. I’ll plan to run it for a few outings and then change the ATF again to see if there is any additional residue.

I think Holdmybeer is right. I just changed the transmission fluid in an older boat this week and had the exact same thing happen. The fluid looked to be in great shape but there was a little grey sludge on the edge of the extractor hose like you had. I'm not too worried about it as the fluid looked perfect. I plan to recheck after putting some hrs on it.
