Best wakeboard prop SL400
Looking for recommendations for best wakeboard prop. Not worried about losing top end speed. With one in the boat I am riding 25-50% ballast. No issue for me. However, I have a buddy with 5, 7, mobes and he wants to ride 100%, only one in the boat. The boat struggles to get on plane and sometimes takes a good 15 -30 seconds to plane out. Makes me almost wish I went with the 450. Anyway that isn't an option at this point. I have the Acme 3591.
Is there a different prop that may be better for the hole shot and wakeboarding with weight? I read through other threads and FB threads and it seems the 3591 is one of the most common recommendations. Thanks all for any advice.
When I say 100% ballast; 100 bow, 100 port, 90 starboard to offset driver weight. Not using autowake.
Would extra bow weight help? Seems stern heavy. Maybe a couple lead bags in the bow?2023 SL400

Maybe when @knoxmojo sees this he can comment. Scott has tested a bunch of OJ props and he wakeboards on the SL and SA setups that are parked at his dock with the newer trans package.
I think the SL400 (2021) parked there is the 16x13.9 prop, but he can comment on that.
I have friends that surf the OJ 16x15 with the SL450 (2022) and are happy with it. Not sure they wakeboard full ballast.

Call OJ props and talk to Eric, he knows everything there is to know about props and can point you in the right direction. He was a huge help getting me into the right prop.

I haven't looked at this in depth on my boat but am curious if your wake plate is staying at 100% when you are struggling to get on plane.

The Acme prop finder suggested the 3145 16.00x13.00 for me based on target wake size large, ballast 4-6k, and elevation 0-3k feet. If I was at elevation it would suggest the 3161 16.00x12.50.
3145 is $1104 on Acme website, but Prop depot out of Tennessee has it for $814 and free shipping. Nettles had it for $825 with $25 shipping.
I tried to call OJ on Thursday and didn't get an answer and they are closed on Fridat-Sunday. I will try them on Monday, but I think I am just going to get the Acme one ordered since the season is running down and I want to get them swapped out.
Thanks for all the information and suggestions.2023 SL400

a 12.5 pitch is going to have a ton of low end torque and should have no problem at all getting to wakeboard speed with a full load I would think.
