Is there enough fall behind the barn for you to grade that area beside the building to shed the water back that way? It doesn't look like it would take too much to keep it from standing. If you can go do that, it would be a more reliable solution than a pipe.

The goal is to be close to level with the smaller side garage door and the grade down towards the back of the building. Same thing on the opposite side of the building but there is enough drop there I'm not nearly as concerned. Those puddles soaked in rather quickly but our ground is still thirsty. By next spring that won't be the case.

This project is driving me nuts. We get some momentum, start getting things almost done. Then nothing for a week. Then a little momentum, then nothing for a week+. I need to take advantage of what nice weather we have left for some excavation and trenching and then the gravel before it's nothing but a mud bog back there. But that can't happen until the rest of these guys finish up and get the hell out of the way. The siders are waiting on the door who's waiting on the deck who's waiting on the waterproofing who is apparently taking the week off. Then there's the railing which at this point I'll do myself which I'm sure will shave off at least a week. Then electrical which I'm just taking over at this point.

URGH.... Then again looking at it, I guess we've come a long way in almost exactly 7 months.

So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

That's a good before and after picture. That is a lot for 7 months. The last little bit always takes the longest!

You got waaaaayyy further in 7 months then I did. It was almost 5 months from digging footers to having footers poured. Got to dig themcout twice in between and fire one guy for being incompetent. At 13 months I finally got a final approval and got signed off. That was end of June. Only now have I gotten approx 1/3of the garage wired. Its been super slow tedious process to get it to this point. Dont let the starts and stops get you down. Looks great !

Did a quick guys trip to Powell for the weekend. Air temp was 80, water was 70, and the lake was pretty quiet. It was a perfect Fall trip.

Whoa! That started quickly! ......I guess anyway. We are in Savannah right now for a conference, and it was in the 80's today.

A good week to ride in Eastern TN. Knoxville air temps in the 70s-80s. Water was chilly from Norris Dam.
