Default Out with the old and in with the new tow rig

Well guys my ole 2010 F150 FX2 with 275k miles blew the head gasket. Rather than dump money into such an old truck I bit the bullet and finally decided to upgrade. Going to be nice not having to worry about being only a 2WD truck at the slick wet ramps now. The amount of tech in this thing is unreal and makes my 2010 feel like an ancient relic! Got the 502A and most options, save for the bed stuff.

Loving it this morning driving in hands free on the interstates lol.

Sure is purdy. I just can't get over how short the bed is.

I won't be tempted by a new truck for quite a while with 2 in college and a shop build about to kick off.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Sweet looking ride! And yes the tech is a huge upgrade from 2010. I went from a 2002 to an 18 a few years ago and couldn't even compare the two. I see the screen in that one is even bigger than the 18 model.

Thanks, I am loving this thing! I contemplated going with the longer bed this time around but the short bed hasn’t been an issue for us in the 11 years we had the 2010. I was also worried my wife would not be able to park this beast if it were any larger lol.

Thanks man! I really wanted to try and find a 2023 with the new Avalanche color but couldn’t find any with the options I wanted. This is my first white vehicle so, I’m glad I won’t have to deal with the black for at least a while again lol.

My dad recently bought a used 2017 King Ranch that has a big screen probably like yours. The new screen is larger I think. Nice resolution and much easier to read than the small aftermarket radio screen I’ve been looking at for the last few years.

It has the Unleashed B&O sound system with I think 18 freakin speakers. Sounds really clear and much better than the old muddy door speakers my 2010 had lol. Now I just need to figure out if I want to reuse my stealth box and 10” Image Dynamics sub or sell all my old truck stuff.

    Congrats!

I did this back in June 2022. Ordered a new truck in March 2022 and then sold the old one a week after. Had to use the wife's suv to tow the boat the first time out.

The upgrades and creature comforts make us spoiled, but so nice.

I do have the same B/O Sound system in my 18, and yes it rocks very well. I would just leave your old stuff. You will be happy with it.

It is Oxford. I also like the new Avalanche color for the 2023’s but none were around optioned out for what I was looking for. Dealer gave me a ceramic coat kit but I want to get some protective film installed on it. Already got my first small rock chip lol
