    Lucky you! I have a make up trip mid-October. I am predicting water temp at 72, but the air temperature is so hit and miss that time of year. Hoping for 80, but we have seen 60 and 75 before and even 50 in September.

    Yea, Fall at Powell is always hit and miss. We have generaly had pretty good luck with the weather in Oct. Hope you get a nice stretch of sun!

    @Mxmark4 has offered several great tips. A few others worth considering:
    Make sure the driver pulls you up easy. On day one for me I took the foil tip to the chest 3 times getting pulled up way to hard.
    I learned long line but personally find it way easier to get up short line. Others feel the opposite so try both. I feel short line helps getting the board on plane, long line is easier once on plane.

    When learning I would hold the handle and top edge of the board at the same time to prevent submerging. Alternatively I would hold the handle and top of the board with one hand and the other hand was on the tail of the board. Ultimately I believe this helped me stay crouched til the board planed.
