If I get my dock built next year, I have the ability to drive right down to the water's edge. Not sure what system I would use to fuel the boat driving from the local gas station.
Northern tool had a nice fuel caddy I originally looked at. 50 gallon tank on a cart. Had a 12vdc pump option. Not sure if they still make/sell it.

30 gallon Poly tank. I have two of them I use for this system. One is plain with no hoses. I put it in the back of the truck and fill it at the station. Then use a cheap, but fast siphon to gravity drain it into the tank on the dolly. Roll it onto my dock and then hook up a small air pump to the top of it as shown. With only about 1.5 psi of pressure it pumps the whole 30 gallons uphill into the boat in just over 3 minutes. My old crownlines fuel fill cap was at about dock height and I could just gravity feed the whole 30 gallons into the boat on it. Using this setup I never have to lift anything full of gas.

By the way, most car washes have these tanks and will give them to you. They receive all their soaps and chemicals in them. They are HDPE and chemical resistant. 55 gallon too, but I prefer the 30 because it's easier to handle.

@HFarr I have seen your setup before on here or FB can't remember. Could you list the parts you used to put this together? Thanks!

I just went online and found the parts I used to post some pictures. I know I only paid 30 bucks for the rubber gas line and handle, but that was about 4 years ago. I did buy 10' long hose, but ended up cutting it in half down to 5'. The plastic chemical resistant fittings I bought at tractor supply. I tried taking a picture down in the barrel where I mounted the bulkhead fitting. This particular barrel had a flat spot down there with a raised ridge inside it that happened to allow me to drill my hole so that one of the flat spots on the bulkhead fitting nut butted up against it. That held the nut in place allowing me to tighten it from just the outside. Threaded the elbow into that and then claimed the gas hose to it. Super simple. If you're fill cap on the boat sits lower than the barrel, gravity feed is all you need. Notice I did make a small wooden platform for the barrel to sit on so the elbow fitting would clear the ground. I just screwed it to the plate on the metal dolly. The barrel is held on the dolly with a ratchet strap.
If you need to add some pressure to pump uphill, then drill a small hole in one of the bung caps and pop an air valve in the hole. You can get the air valves in packs of 2 or 3 at Walmart for a couple of bucks. The gas will eventually take its toll on those, so plan to replace at least once a year or so when they get soft and leak air.

Notice my fancy wooden handle for the bung cap! Just so happened I looked at my chop saw and there was a cut end piece of 2x4 sitting on it. Happened to fit perfectly!

Ask this talk about turbo siphon and VP jugs and I leave for camping without my VP jug fill spout or the turbo siphon!

Fun fact: the 3/4" ballast fittings connect to the VP jug cap! Woo hoo!

I never store gas in this setup just in case a fitting or hose clamp gets loose. I have two original barrels with no holes in the bottom for that.

Highly recommend the flo fast products. Especially great if you have a tricky dock to get to because of the cart.
