gelcoat cracks
bought an 07 lsv and have about 13.5 hours on it. it seems that every time that i clean the boat i find more crack in the gelcoat. there are about 6 cracks in the sides and several from both tie down hooks and swim platform brackets. just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

don't think that should be happening, take it in to get it checked out asap to prevent further damage.

Have a 2007 LSV, and notice a "crack" coming down from one of the "window" screws, checking with dealer now.

Could be stress cracks, but I sitll don't think they should be on that new of boat. You should get them checked out for sure.

What about a 2003 outback with new gelcoat cracks from the platform brackets? Just found them this spring when I got it out of storage.

I had a bunch of cracks in my swim platform on my '07 LSV. I contacted SC and they told me to take it back to the dealer. The dealer actually repaired it in house. It looks good, but I will see if it holds up. I lived with the cracks last summer and returned it at the end of the season. (Kind-of tough to get in the boat with no platform). I just put the boat in for the first time two weeks ago. So far, so good.

Since my 2003 is out of warranty, I really do not want to go back to the dealer. I do not have any faith in them anyways. Any place in SE MI to take it for repair? Thanks

Who is your dealer? Brickyard Motor Sports in Coldwater, MI? That is who I bought mine from and haven't been overly impressed, but they did a very good job on the Gel Coat. Time will tell if it holds up.
There is a very good fiberglass repair place in St. Joe, Indiana. I'm not sure how far away that is for you. I am in Ft. Wayne, IN.
