Opens Facebook, throws out random numbers and non facts, sob story, don't want to sell but business opportunities/ lake down/ kids don't enjoy it. That's about how every for sale post reads. Be honest, you're wanting to capitalize on the market and make a quick buck. Lol

I recall last year when I picked up my boat, sales manager said he had a buyer who wanted my boat for $10k more.

Not unusual at all that used boats are fetching higher prices, simple supply and demand.

Higher MSRP’s will drive higher used prices, perhaps by design. Nobody is going to buy a new boat at a higher MSRP after taking a 20k hit on selling their old boat.

It should be interesting to see how this plays out in boat market with money getting more expensive, unknown of gas prices this summer, and will people continue to 'feel rich'? Lots of jobs around and people are job-hopping to make higher salaries. Probably not going to be a quarter to look at 401k returns.

I wanted to ask if the business opportunity was selling a boat for 20K profit? He is telling you exactly what his reason for selling is in the post. I try not to comment on pricing and reasoning on FB, people get so bent out of shape whenever you post anything they don't agree with. It's a public forum and people are going to have ideas that do not align with yours. If you don't want the feedback, then don't post on public forums. Pretty simple. Or, turn off commenting.

I was thinking the same, list high, settle lower, try to walk away with 15-20k. Work the crazy market.

I try to stay away from the commenting on prices on FBook. The hot rod and muscle car groups I belong to are worst than boaters.

Who knows, some folks might have paid MSRP or close to for their new boat. Yikes if so.

If we are all being honest, when it comes to spending disposable income on non essential toys, we all want the biggest bang for the buck, the art of the deal.

This current market is not going to support that ideal.

On a side note, we have 2 mastercraft dealers in my area and between both of them have 37 NEW 2022’s for sale.

Local Malibu dealer has 24 new Malibu/axis in inventory.

Also plenty of local inventory on Tige/ATX.

Only OEM’s with no inventory is SC and Nautique.

Probably the same around Knoxville. The local SC dealer has been putting more Supra/Moomba boats on the water each year - good to see.

The local MC dealer usually has boats for sale. They sold a lot of units in the past years.

The BU dealer, they switched owners/locations and are building up a new dealership over the last few years. From a drive-by, they never have too many boats sitting in the yard.

Maybe Mastercraft and Malibu do less custom ordering and more dealer boats.

It’s been my opinion that dealers don’t do the best job picking color combos on boats.

I noticed the BU dealer not far from us had 10+ new boats delivered in factory wrap the other day. I can’t see that many custom builds delivered en mass like that. Especially when the dealership has a dirt lot for parking and inventory.
