    Engine hatch


    23 12”x12” panels covered the engine and trans hatch and the main floor.

    Just a heads up, you need to get the foam squares wet and sit them in the sun to expand them after you pull them out of compressed packaging.

    I just used a spray bottle. Took about 30 min for the most compressed ones to expand.

    It works. Really happy with noise reduction.

    Some additional observations.

    The main noise improvements I noticed.

    1) could barely hear the starter when firing it up
    2) the raptors have a pronounced valve train noise that was now barely audible.
    3) can’t hear transmission anymore.
    4) the tones you can hear are lower pitched.

    I didn’t tell the wife I added this material, her comment was simply, the boat sounds different.
