    Default Raptor 575 prop options

So I dinged my Acme 2247 (15.00 X 14.25) on my 2018 SL550 and want to get a replacement and then repair the 2247 and keep it as a backup.

We are in Texas so elevation is not a factor. We only surf and I have 1000lbs of lead in the SL. Surf RPMs full loaded with stock ballast 3500lbs and 1000lbs of lead with medium size crew is 3500-3600rpm.

Anyone have the 575 and upgraded the prop?

I know the new Supra props are 16 inch and even the new Moomba boats come with 15.5 inch props.

Any room to go bigger? The newer 16x13.9 prop that come on the Supra with the 1.7 transmission everyone likes. Not sure what it would do on your 575 engine with 1.5 trans. Assuming less slip from the bigger prop you should drop 200-ish RPM when surfing, but you will lose some top end if you try any skiing on that thing.

Not sure who you are using to repair, but I went through nettles and they are kinda a scam.

Great price on new props, they give you a $50 coupon to repair your prop if you ship it to them.

They quote the repair only upon receiving it.

I had a minor ding on one blade and quote was $310 shipped and that included the $50 off.

Might get it back by mid November.

Summary, great price on new prop, but they get it back in the prop repair.

I found out the same thing, I have bought probably 6 or 8 props from them over the years but when I got a quote for repair it was well over double most other places pricing.

Live and learn, by the time I pay to have it shipped back and pay for local repair it’s just worth it to have them finish it.

My dealer is using a local prop repair shop in the DFW area for the repairs.

I am still interested in hearing from other 575 owners who have changed from the Acme 2247 and what their experience was.

Have you considered jumping up to a 16” prop?

2022 builder lists the 16” props for the 575/1.5 combo.

The builder may be wrong because I swear the 575 is coming with the 1.7 trans this year:

I am pretty sure the builder is wrong. I think I remember Drew telling us it was coming with the 1.7 for 2022.

    Response from Wakemakers...thoughts?

"Going UP in propeller pitch is going to help lower RPMS and help with that fuel consumption. However, you will notice a change in whole shot performance. Something like the OJ 925 would help with that.

Unfortunately, we are very limited on available 15" propellers with a higher than 14" of pitch at this time. A "special order" prop such as the OJ 925 is a better option at this point in the year for getting a propeller sooner, rather than waiting for our ACME shipment that wont ship until October. "
