Default Locking/securing boards in PTM racks against theft

A future boat owner was looking at my board racks and asked if there was a way to lock the racks to discourage opportunistic theft.

His concern was that he would like to leave the boards in the rack while boat is parked overnight in his marina.

    Anyone seen a solution?

You could use a cable lock to secure them to the rack. I would suggest taking them out of racks and putting them under cover or taking them with you. Don't let laziness cost you money. Thieves are opportunistic and only go after easy targets most of the time.

Agree, boards are too expensive to leave in a marina and frankly most boards won’t tolerate that much UV/heat while clamped.

    Take them with you.

That’s my thought, and what I would do, but I just wondered for his benefit if someone found a solution for PTM racks.

Was thinking the surf locker should be lockable.

Out of sight, out of mind. All valuables are concealed somewhere before we get to the dock or taken with us.

From memory this might work. Just have to check the specs on the factory latch.
