Having attended the PWT, the wakeboarding is far more entertaining than the surfing.

The surfing is cool, but kinda bland to watch from the shore.

Perhaps that weighs into sponsorship monies.

I was a little surprised Rapa didn't win, he put on a show. So did TI, but he had a spectacular face plant in the semi final heat.

The surfing can be bland to watch if the rider is riding opposite you......you just see there heads bobbing behind the wave.

Wakesurf wasn't even on the same planet....when Sean threw down 2 super clean passes, it was over.

Wakeboarding was much more back and forth with the guys trying to one up each other.

In years pre-supply catastrophe, Supra riders (wakeboard) would get a prior model year to run plus $.

Shota recently premiered his new one so I think one of his sponsors takes care of his.

In Sean's case, XInsurance is paying for his SA. He said he trains on his roommate's Ri23 but I don't know if it's paid for by a sponsor or family owned. Some of the young guns are on family (Daddy's) owned boats.

Ashley Kidd definitely doesn't pay for her boats, her side hustle game is strong between sponsors and social media influencer.
