    Default Question for Brian Raymond

What is the normal Oil pressure operating range on the 2000 Indmar assult MPI in my Mob V. At idle it is just under 40 and from 1000 rpm on up it varies from around 40 to 50. Is this normal range or is the sending unit going bad.

    Default Oil press.

Sorry for the delayed response. The pressure numbers at the various rpm's are correct. These numbers will vary slightly due to gauge manufacturer and the font set up on the gauge. It appears that your sending unit and gauge are functioning properly. It has been through my experience, that a sending unit is either good or bad, there is usually no indication one is about to crap out. The most common issues are in the wiring or the gauge itself. GM has some specs. in the Indmar owners manual, you can actually run oil press. @4psi@idle, and 14psi@2000rpm. These, of course, are probably the mins. Brian Raymond
