High oil pressure help
Well first run of the season and as soon as I left the dock I noticed the oil pressure at 90psi. Revving takes it to 120.
First thought was too much oil (fresh change)
So headed back to the trailer and drained some.
Same.
Drained again and still same.
Next thought was bad oil filter (also fresh).
Pulled it out and ran without it for a second to see if that would fix it.
No dice
So now I'm lost as to where to go. I'm obviously not comfortable running it at these pressures.
My next thought is bad sending unit. Anyone know where it is? It's easy to get but I can't find the damn thing.
Any other ideas?
About to drain all the oil and start again but I'm not hopeful.
Fine all last year 35-65psi.2020 Supra SA

Do you have the 400 or 450? It’s on top of the oil filter it looks like. It’s number 117 on this pic.

Man that’s a bummer.
High oil pressure feels like a restriction somewhere and a cartridge style filter is not highly likely to cause a restriction.
I am not sure if sensors fail to high readings, normally they fail low or Zero.
On the 6.2 truck engines the sensor is on the drivers side towards the front side on engine just above the oil pan.
Not sure if Indmar remotes that sensor but if that that translates to starboard rear. So under the oil filter area.

It's under the oil filter on the 400.
Can't find a sender that will fit locally. Part number on the sender doesn't match with anything.
Any ideas on where/how to look for a restriction?2020 Supra SA

2 updates.
1: whatever they pay techs to do this shit in the back of these deeeeeeep boats, they should double it. Jesus what a terrible job.
2: no one has a sender locally so I bought an oil pressure gauge and put it in place of the sender.
After a little snafoo of not tightening the oil filter enough (oil all in the bilge now that's fun) the gauge reads 40psi cold which is completely normal. So looks like the sender shit the bed.
Hopefully I can find one tomorrow otherwise ordering from bakes I guess.2020 Supra SA
