You might be the first to try this out. If so, report back.
Most cut a hole in the helm wall and build a box behind it or run free-air sub. I don't think I could cut a hole in my brand new boat, so I understand if you don't. but that is where SC would put it if you ordered with the boat.2015 Moomba Mojo Surf Edition

05-06-2021, 06:28 PM #12I went with the 2 Rockford Fosgate punch amps, they have the ability to add a boost nob to adjust things on the fly which I really liked.
On sort of a side note, they make do make marine grade amps for wet environments. They are more expensive
Now, in the Kicker lineup, there has typically been, as expected, a difference in cost between the KX and KXM amps. However, its not much of a difference for the added durability of the marine amp.

Installed a JL Audio 13” long excursion in a tiny box that I mounted to the back of of the backrest in the bow under the helm as high up as possible. Completely invisible and sounds great. Clarion amp drives it from the cabin zone signal and came with its own gain control that I mounted in an inconspicuous spot on the dash. Sounds great! Not low budget but worth every penny.

Back in the Bazooka bass tube days of the Jeep. It was only a 8" sub though and for what it was it did well. As MLA said, having something like that hidden in the locker will muffle the bass, but it is super cost effective.
Now can you rig up the mount to go on the tower.......2015 Moomba Mojo Surf Edition

That 10" passive radiator marine-grade setup is phenomenal. Solid performer at the 400W rms range. Ive done a ton in pontoons. However, the issue is placing it, or any woofer enclosure, in a closed and insulated locker. If you are willing to cut the vent hole, go with it.

I just removed a 10” tube that was installed in the locker. Waste of money. Had to lift the observer seat backrest to get anything that resembled decent output.

I bought one of these for my old Crownline, and one for my daughters jeep Wrangler. For 100 bucks, it rocked great for the two years I owned both and was still hitting hard when I sold them. Super easy install with the amp built into it. Honestly the box is very well built too. 300w RMS
