Default Required Use of the Kill Switch

FYI. Kill switches on boats less than 26 feet are required to be used now on Federal waterways. Missouri just made it law.

They all do by law but you have to wear the lanyard or a smart cutoff (fob).

My point is, at least you don’t have to retrofit your boat.

As far as being forced by the feds to attach the tether... whole different argument.

It's not a bad idea if you are in the boat alone. I have clipped it to my shorts once or twice before, but always forget and stand up only to have it pop and kill the boat. Not fun! Told myself if I ever put it on again, I am adding another 3 ft to the length.

Required to wear if it's installed. Easy to uninstall..... if your boat is pre 2019
