e-15??
I don't follow a lot of politics but this caught my eye this morning and first thing I thought of was if this will renew efforts to move to e-15 or something "worse" for recreationalists.... on the same page some of the major automakers are talking to move to electric.
Tom Vilsack, who served as Secretary of Agriculture for the entire eight years of the Obama administration, will return to that job after he was confirmed 92-7 by the US Senate.
The Associated Press writes that in his testimony, Vilsack "heavily endorsed boosting climate-friendly agricultural industries such as the creation of biofuels, saying, 'Agriculture is one of our first and best ways to get some wins' on climate change.
"He proposed 'building a rural economy based on biomanufacturing' and 'turning agricultural waste into a variety of products.' Vilsack also pledged to work closely with the Environmental Protection Agency to 'spur the industry' on biofuels.'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

e-15??
Would be an interesting dilemma if all raptor owners got stuck with E15.
First off alcohol is a bad choice near water as it simply absorbs water into the fuel.
The reason Indmar says not to run E-15 is the ECM and fuel demand would need to be adjusted in the tune. Although E15 has a higher octane, the stoichometry of E15 will throw off the air fuel mixture. It’s an easy fix to increase fuel demand, IF the stock fuel pump and injectors have duty cycle available.
Indmar would need to flash the ECM to make E15 work.
I doubt 87/89/93 grades will change to E15 anytime soon. 290 million cars on the road and a large number of those would not tolerate E15. It will be like E85, not all stations will carry it.

it will be the same issue as there is right now with the big push for electric vehicles. automakers start producing them, but the nation is way behind in providing the infrastructure to support it

What I see as Vilsack’s vision for bio-fuel use is to replace coal and petroleum from energy production. The auto industry is leaning into electric, and charging demand is straining national and regional grid supplies.
Larry is right that biofuels use has created auto industry strains that electric doesn’t. The carbon offset has been shown to be poor for biofuels in the auto industry with exception of cooking oil conversion and capture.
Biofuel capture and use has offsets that coal and petroleum don’t. Biomass energy generation produces potash which can be used to re-enrich depleted ag soils and can allow for crop turnover with less pre-emergent chemical application.
The reality is big ag and big oil are hard ships to turn. With soil nutrient depletion coming to a head, the ah belt in the next 10 yrs is going to see much less production unless we address nutrient recapture.
I wouldn’t worry about E15 and complete industry conversion, especially when the conversation is starting to shift back towards hydrogen as a primary fuel source.2020 SA 450 Wife calls it White Cloud. Said it makes her feel "Classy"
