Default Max pitch setting for surfing

I have read many posts on surf settings relating to pitch and roll, but still have two questions I could use some help with:
    1. We have surfed with a pitch setting between 9.5 and 10.5 degrees normally. Factory settings were 7.5. I cannot imagine SC creating a factory setting without having some success with it, but we just never found any push. Have any of you found sufficient push at a 7.5 degree setting. If yes, what ballast and speed are you running?
    2. I have recalibrated the clinometer in the Max twice. My phone clinometer reads a couple of degrees off the boat still. I have checked the phone using the floor of the house and it is very close to 0 degrees on pitch and roll. Autowake is set to 10 degrees and the phone clinometer reads about 12 as an example. With full ballast (over 5,000lbs) we cannot surf faster than 10.5 mph whereas many of you with the same ballast can surf over 11mph. Our rpm range is typically between 3700 and 4000 with the Raptor 400. I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what...We are using a 15x 12 prop to push a half sunk boat through the water. So my rpm's should be a little higher than with the stock prop, but I feel any more rpms will start to impact longevity. You can probably guess where I am heading with this...If my clinometer is off and I use the phone as a gauge then I will lose some push for sure, but likely be able to get the speed up over 11mph without blowing the motor up. So is the wave that much better over 11mph to compensate for reduced push from a lower pitch? I have seen some pictures of waves over 11mph with similar ballast and they sure look better than my wave! Ironically, my family members and I are all under 160lbs so we shouldn't need much push to begin with! The lakes are frozen up here so not I can I go try anything out for a few months.

Sorry for the length of the post!

Find the wave you like by surfing it, it will different from every boat and every rider. Once you find the wave for your boat set autowake to those numbers, you have to experiment with it. Rise angle doesn't do much, roll makes the biggest impact.

Aslo speed makes the biggest impact of all, mine is 9.8 to 10.4 for my Craz. If your boat is struggling to to get to 11 you should upgrade your prop.

All that really matters is what you like.
I can't imagine surfing at 9, I'm usually up around 12 but it's all preference.
At 9 my wave is about 3 stories tall but only 6 feet long lol

I would recal that inclinometer. Take all the weight out and fill the fuel and calibrate in dead calm water with you standing in the walkway right between the windshield halves.

Pitch is a big deal. 9.5 to 10 is where 99% of SC hulls behave best, and motors run best. And I have had 4 of them, all different, since 2017. It’s legit info.

Me personally, I balance RPM with pitch. I want the meatiest wave without my motor screaming like a banshee. Usually settle around 9.5 degrees, and 11.8 mph—in all these boats, actually.

What is the code for the Supra to get to the re-cal menu? I want to re-cal when we can get on the water.

I think you can recal without going into the dealer settings?
    But if not it's 9191

Thanks. I’ll add that to my passcode list.

Yeah, I will recalibrate once more and try again. Water was calm previously. Stood in the walkway as you suggested. The only thing that might have influenced the recal was I was tied to the dock...will try in open water and see if it makes a difference.

    Thanks

    It shouldn’t require a passcode.
