Default Towing with Bimini Top or Mooring Cover

What is the general comfort level in towing with the Bimini top out or mooring cover?

Should we just not do it at all?

    Thoughts?

I would not, doubt it would survive much over 45-50 mph

No on the bimini top ask me how I know. 45mph and it didn't survive.

Thanks fellas. Will not tow with top out then!

    What about the cover?

I tow with mine on after we had a cushion blow out. Have seen no ill effects.

Confused...your first post said “no” it didn’t survive. Now your saying “no I’ll effects”, but had a bow cushion fly out? lol

Technically the Bimini has to be good to at least 40 mph and so if you had a short (couple miles) slow drive to the boat landing (25 mph) you’ll be fine. We used to live a mile from the landing in a residential area and if the landing was busy I would drive back home with the Bimini up (at less than 25 mph).

    Anything else pack it up.

First was about the bimini. Had some weather move in earlier than expected so we got off the lake fast. Realized I didn't put the bimini up as we were leaving the parking lot. Drove 45mph around 15 miles home. The left bimini tube folded.

Cover - To the local launch never. If out of town then occasionally.

    Bimini - never.
