As many hand bags as possible. Preferably enough to fill every storage compartment to prevent ballast filling and so that it takes a minimum of 45 minutes to find anything. The fuel savings from not being able to fill ballast and remaining stopped looking for stuff is significant. You won't regret it.

Please bring a giant Yeti cooler loaded down with sodas of all variety and beer. Please make sure your shoes are on when you try and step into the boat with the Yeti cooler that has been in the back of your truck and is covered with all sorts of shit and set it right on the cushions and then place it directly in the middle of the floor.

I love the bring your own yeti folks! Sure you can set that gigantic cooler anywhere you'd like, how about in the driver seat or right in the middle of the aisleway?

Keep them trimmed like normal and it'll be fine. We sometimes throw an old bed sheet on the main floor area for extra protection, but we've never had a problem.
