I've owned 1 Mojo, 1 Supra both of those didn't have a surf pipe, the Supra I own now has one. It makes a big difference in exhaust note, especially under heavy loads when surfing. I also believe it makes a difference in the CO and exhaust when loaded down surfing. I don't notice the sulfur/burnt fried chicken smell when riding behind or on the surf lockers on my Supra with the surfpipe.

If it is coming from the factory...ABSOLUTELY!
If it was added aftermarket...I AM OUT!

    Agree 100% with the above.

Surf Pipe is now or never.

I would get it on a new boat. I wouldn’t touch a aftermarket FAE based on research from a number of different forums.

My dealer said he wouldn’t get one based on the efficiency of modern engines, but I know a lot of people swear by them. It’s easy for me to spend someone else’s 700 bucks, but my build included it.

Not sure I understand the “efficiency” claims dealers say. Cats or not, CO is still high on any gasoline engine.

Cats reduce it, but don’t eliminate CO.

Isn’t Pre-Cat CO level indicative of efficiency, and post-cat CO a matter of regulation?

The more CO combustion produces is a matter of inefficiency of oxidation not evolving enough heat energy to convert the hydrocarbon completely to CO and H2O, along with other conversion byproducts of benzine chains.

Post-cat CO monitoring can help adjust the mixtures to improve efficiency. CO is odorless. The catalyst produces H2S which is the rotten eggs smell, and is a chemical asphyxiant in high enough levels. A surf pipe reduces CO and H2S levels by mixing them in water, allowing for some absorption into the water and reduced swimstep levels. Without adequate ventilation, levels will build.

The dichotomy is that a boat in forward motion with an ideal wind direction makes it safe to be on the swim steps or lockers, but because getting thrown from a moving boat is a hazardous event, riding the step or lockers is considered hazardous.

I vote surf pipe in your build, not aftermarket. The reduction in exhaust noise alone is worth it. On the midrange boats, they don’t have adequate engine and transmission sound insulation, making conversation difficult with engine on. Plus, just for the peace of the lake, it helps keep wake boat haters from hating us more when your boat is quieter than the FOPs out trolling with their clapped out 5 hp Johnson OBs.

The red accents on the exterior and interior don’t not look good at all...rather awful..IMO. Don’t do it...

Also, in my opinion any flake color only looks good with white. If you like the blue flake look at Haknslash’s boat, the blue flake looks great with the white and no other colors mixed in.

I am looking at installing one on my SL but I'm going to inquire through my dealer to see if they can get the OEM from SC. I will not install an aftermarket either. Just have to find out if this is possible. Haven't seen anyone yet say they were able to get one OEM.

Coming in hot with the your boat looks like s--t when Got2Ski wasn't even asking for opinions on her color scheme.

White is boring on a surf boat.

Colors are preference and opinion. Everyone has their own tastes and that is cool. Get whatever colors you like the most. Just understand that if you go too wild it may be harder to sell the boat years down the road as it would take someone who equally likes the wild color schemes. If that is no concern to you then get it painted like a skittles bag if that is what you’re into lol.

I certainly wouldn’t get butt hurt if someone called my boat ugly. I certainly understand it.

I recall catching a fair amount of criticism for my peanut butter interior and understood how polarizing it was.

    No biggie.
