Rocket or Broadcast? Best beginner friend and weird uncle board?
First off ....Don't judge... I know these boards suck or whatever....
BUT..
I've already bought a scamp for my daughter and I've bought a Doomswell NEO for myself. We have a Kong as well that is a blast also...
What I am looking for is a beginner all purpose board that I can throw out to all the friends/neighbors/relatives that tag along with me. Something that is cheap, tough, storable in racks, and easy to get up on and ride. Something that won't make me cringe when I see them headed for the back of the boat..lol.
I don't like spending tons of coin on boards I probably won't ride and have found a great deal on both a LF Rocket and a H/L Broadcast. One about 3 bills and the other less than that. Is the Broadcast worth 50 bucks more than the LF?
Any thoughts on these or is there another affordable compression molded option that you think would fit the bill as my beginner guest board? (CWS Bentley/Voodoo/Ride)???

we had an old broadcast bought in '07 with our first boat. used it to teach a TON of noobs until we moved in '13 and board was still in great shape. left it with a buddy that has a boomerang and they still mess around with it today.
have a cwb ride that I bought gf back in '11 and I don't think anyone has rode it in years. the broadcast is, imo, a much better board to train on.
today we use an old p5 danielo pro to teach on.
if you want a surf style boat board as well we had good luck with a koal. durable and pretty easy to teach on.'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

The Broadcast is a great durable "boat board" and easy to learn on.
No shame in not lending out pricey boards to newbies.

I have a CWB voodoo and an HL Landlock as my noob boards. I got a number of people up on the Landlock. Not great for smaller riders. Nobody wanted to ride the voodoo. I think the voodoo has good speed and stability, and if they gave it a go, they’d like it.

The rocket is a total slug, heavy and rides like it. Get the Broadcast, there is a reason it's the go to boat board. The Connelly Voodoo is a solid entry into surf style. I have owned all 3. I now use an Inland Surfer Black Pearl as my starter board. Also had the I.S. Tako, also really nice and can be found inexpensive. Sold it to a buddy of mine for his fiancée and their newbie boat board. They love it. Can be set up 3 fin, 2 outside for more surf style, or can buy the skim fin the spin easier on. Good luck!!
