    Default Fuel Tank Vent

I have a 2005 Outback. When I fill up the tank, I have to barely hold the gas lever because it burps back at me at higher flow rates. I haven't checked the fuel tank vent yet...could this be the problem or have other owners noticed you can't fill up the tank at normal flow rates?

Is the fuel tank vent hose accessible by removing a panel in the rear ski locker area?

    Thanks!

Yes, you can access the vent by removing the rear panel in the ski locker that is against the stern. You will see 2 hoses, one for filling and one for the vent. Both start at the gas cap.
    .
Make sure that while you are filling, you are not inadvertently blocking the vent which is just inside and above the fill hole. I can't fill mine up @ full force of the gas pump, but it does go in at a pretty good clip.

    Hope this helps

I have the exact same problem with my 06' Outback while Im filling it up. It takes about 15 minutes to fill because I have to trickle it in.

I had the same issue with my 2001 Moomba Mobius. Each time i fill-up, i remove the fuel cap and blow through the vent valve then i can fill with full power. My restriction appears to be small pieces of black particles inside the fuel tank.
