Low voltage/Low current Code

I have a 2007 Moomba Mobius LSV and the check engine light is on and is throwing the code low volt or shortened and low current. In the water the engine would run fine as throttle is given it would intermittently automatically power down to a protective mode with the engine still running. Any ideas what to look for? Possible relay issue? The battery is four years old.

I would get a meter on the battery and also charge up the current battery.
Battery terminals clean & tight?

I also recall once you have a fully charged battery, it takes multiple cycles of turning the boat on/off to have the error code cleared.

Also check the alternator output
