Not sure if this will help. My 2020 Mojo with the 400 has a top speed of 38mph with the stock OJ 15.5” Dia X 16.5” Pitch. I run 4700 lbs of total ballast and I am switching to a different prop as this prop has too much pitch for the weight. I can surf but not wakeboard with the ballast maxed. Jim from ACME is sending me a prop that he thinks will work better. I measured the distance from the prop to the closest point on the hull and cannot run a larger diameter prop on my 2020. Maybe the 2021 can handle a larger one. Unless you have a very long distance to travel in the boat to your favourite spot, say 10 or more miles, I would go for the prop with the least pitch recommended by skiers choice. “I wish My boat handled less ballast”- said by no one, ever.

38 is plenty fast. I don’t like cruising much faster than 24-25mph, it’s no fun for anyone in the boat going 38.

I would run the maximum amount of pitch you can and still pull the weight you need to pull doing the activity you want to do. It’s also as annoying to be running it extremely high rpm whilst surfing.

38 is fast. I had a boat (I/O) that would do 50 or so--but that wasn't fun for anyone, including me. Mid 30s is my peak these days, with most cruising in the mid 20s. Feels safer for everyone, and my passengers enjoy it too.

Come on now guys, just because I don't go over 70mph on my bike doesn't mean I don't like the fact it will go 200mph haha
More power and more speed has always been a want and never a problem of mine.
However I do agree with a crew and normal summer conditions I can't think of a time I would ever feel comfortable at 38mph
But that boat did have the wake prop on it so does that mean the standard and even worse the surf prop will have an even lower top speed?Josh

I am very much from the school of the more power and speed the better except for my wake boats.
I have come to accept that wake boats are tow boats, not speed boats.
Plus majority rules on the boat and the majority enjoys lower speeds and lower wind noise to enjoy the music and conversation.

My line is: it’s more like a tractor than a Vette.
