Bow Cleat 2017 Mondo
Has anyone gone through the effort of adding a bow cleat in the center of the bow between the two steps? It's pretty accessible so it won't be an issue to verify what's under the shell but wondering if it's a strong enough spot? I would plan to add some sort of reinforcing plate. By the looks of it, the recess cleats require two, 1-inch holes.
We'd be using it for dragging the boat from the dock to the trailer and visa versa as well as anchoring in the coves and maybe tieing off at the docks.
It seems like a sturdy spot but wondering if anyone has any first-hand experience with this setup.2017 Moomba Mondo

Why not use the trailer u-bolt for that?

Convenience? That's what we do now. I guess we miss the center cleat on top of our old boat. So much more convenient to tie off the anchor rope while standing in the bow vs. hanging over the bow and knotting into the u-bolt. Just a preference thing.
