Engine randomly cutting out.... not so random after all

Texas actually has a new boating law in place that states that drivers of boats equipped with a killswitch must have the killswitch attached to wrist or jacket.

Not sure how they are gonna enforce it but I haven't been pulled over yet...

Seriously it mandates wrist or jacket? I've been attaching to the bottom of leg on my shorts

I would imagine it is one of those things where if they catch somebody doing something stupid or not cooperating another item/reason to pull you over or give ticket.

Or maybe it is targeting jet skiers... or was that law already in place for people riding a jet ski.

The law came about because some girl got killed on one of the flat bottoms shallow draft center console bay boats. Apparently they are flawed in their design and have a tendency to to swap ends during normal maneuvering. Some girl was out on one and they turned a little too sharp or something the boat "skidded" and did a 180 ejecting her and she hit the prop and died. It's a blanket rule applied to every type of boat because one type of boat has a bad design.

It's important to note that those boats spinning and ejecting people is not an isolated incident to this one case. This was just the once incident the broke the camels back so to say.
