    Also, what would happen with mine is a tiny bit of debri would get stuck in the valve keeping it from sealing completely. Just remove the top cap and inspect the diaphragm and make sure it is clean around the edges so it can seal correctly.

    It doesn't take much at all to keep it from sealing. Might not need to replace them unless you want to.

    I had to clean them out once or twice a season and I certainly wouldn't say we have a dirty lake.

    what valsv said, the little black lever is probably on, just flip it off. If that isn't it then it's probably the valve itself.
